Passon Performance 5-speed

Let me first squash any rumors. We are not going anywhere. The unit will be released. I am not gonna lie, it gets frustrating to have such a great amount of interest on a fantastic product and not be able to provide it to the customer. It has nothing to do with being squeezed for capital, it has to do with getting all the revisions ironed out and buttoned up to make production sized runs of parts to build the unit. I'm not sure that everyone out there realizes what is involved there. As for replacement parts if necessary, this will not be a problem as once initial production is fulfilled, parts will continue to flow to keep up with demand. I realize that everyone wants a release date, but i see no sense in lying to people. I am hoping to have things released here in a few months. We have unfortunately run into huge delays that were unforseen. Admittedly, we have not attempted a project of this magnitude before. It all depends on vendors. We cannot get the stuff made quicly enough unfortunately. Thank you to everyone who has hung in there for us.

I've been involved in Mechanical Product Design since 1973 (still am) and I know exactly what you are going through to release a new product from ground zero. BTDT. Even did some industrial gearboxes back in the 70's for Eaton and another company. The concept to design to prototype to testing to revisions to vendor relations to more revisions to first article approval to more testing etc. can take a very long time. Anyone who thinks this is an easy process doesn't know how frustrating and difficult this can be. Lately I've been forced to deal with Asian vendors and it's even worse. A couple days ago there was talk on here about repop Duster Sharktooth grilles and someone referred to them as being stamped. Stamped? Right there he's showing his ignorance. It's obvious he doesn't know how large plastic parts are even made. :violent1:

So hang in there Jamie! I just hope nobody starts trashing you or the new 5 speed when it hits the market. :burnout:
