I recently found this site while browsing another mopar board. Glad to be here.

I have a 71 Demon. Was a /6 but I added a 360 along with an a-body
8 3/4. This is my first project but I have been in love with mopars and especially a bodys since my first ride in my uncle's 70' 340 swinger. (I was 16 then, almost 26 now.) I have made some modifications and progress on the car in the two years I have owned it, but still have a ways to go. Look forward to sharing this experience with fellow a-body people and I'm sure I'll have several questions along the way. Thanks for having me.

Welcome demon522. Post up some pics of your car for us. Mike

Here ya go. This is what she looked like when I first got her. Not much has changed appearance wise yet except the hood. Will soon be wearing a coat of primer until I can afford a paint job.

Welcome:cheers:
I had an uncle that turned me on to A bodies too.
In 1971 I took a ride in what I thought was a brand new car !!
It was Grand Rapids Michigan at a drag strip and they said We did a 13.47
It was a 68 dart 4 speed car. It is hard to remember that day but I have never looked elsewhere for my fix.
Hope you enjoy this great site. I have. :read2: memike

Thats cool, my other uncle just bought a 68 GTS (in pieces.) We're an A- body family. Of course, we do still talk to my father even though he has a 68 Sport Satellite haha.

Thanks all for the kind words. Seems to be some great folks on this board. Again, glad to be here. :thumblef:

Nice Demon you have to start with will be an Awesome ride....
Sounds like a lot of us have great memories in A-body's...Mind was in a 69 340 B5 blue swinger , 4sp... that my buddy had just bought new. He had it out racing the first night with the window stickers still on the car.

OH YEAH....what memories !!!

welcome aboard demon522! that is a pretty nice find indeed. are you going to leave it as a sizzler? there aren't very many of those around. i think i have only seen 1 before. looks like it is gunmetal grey as well. that is a great color with the sizzler package.

I don't plan to leave it as a sizzler. It is a neat package but I have always preferred the dual scoop look so thats what I'm going with. It bugged me for a little bit but it was originally a /6 and I changed that, so it wasnt to hard to get rid of the sizzler as well. Had it been a factory 340 sizzler it would be a different story. I did use a spare hood so I didnt have to cut up the sizzler hood (for now.)

As for the color, its hard to tell from the pics I know, but its some kind of dull turqouise. It was originally light blue (B7?) with black out sizzler hood and white side stripes. I'm not really sure why, but somewhere along the way it was repainted this dull color and different stripes were added to the side. You can still see where the original stripes were in the door jambs, and they were definatly demon stripes. Im not sure what the current stripes are. My dream has always been to go yellow with black stripes and interior. Now that I finally have a car I've noticed that there are alot of '71s done in this combo. I almost changed my mind and started talking about other colors but the fiance said I had always wanted yellow so thats what I should go with. Either way, paint is a good ways down the road, but I hope to be driving and enjoying the car in the meantime, so It will be wearing primer for awhile.
