Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

One of the things I find amusing about this thread is the narrow concept most folks have of the name Dart. It wasn't always used on the A-body. Hell, the name "Dart" was around before the A-body. Does that make the A-body not a "real" Dart by using the logic of some on here? After all, it didn't really carry a lot of the "heritage" from the original, except that it was essentially a small car, marketed to the masses as an what was, essentially, an econo-car with performance upgrades. Oh, wait, isn't that what the new Dart is supposed to be?

The Dart name has appeared on the front wheel drive platform, too. In areas other than the US. Just need to broaden your horizons some and come to terms with history.

It's also appeared on other platforms. Lookee that, in other areas on the globe it appeared on an M-body wagon.

And not so much wagons, but an M-body with an F-body header.

you beat me to it! i was just about to say the same thing. the dart has had many forms. it is remembered mostly in its classic form, but it seems to be forgotten in it's many other forms. the first darts were big land yachts not as we remember them. as with anything things change. i hope it works to help save chrysler. they need another "neon" type car and this may well be it.
