Anyone ever rebuild one them selves. easier or leave it to someone else ? what parts go bad in them and are they still available ?

This is a fast ratio box by the way.

I've done a power unit before, a long time ago. The internals were all good just the seals were bad. How bad is it, if its just a little sloppy I would think new bushings & seals should take care of it.

It's really not that hard at all. I saw a article in a magazine (think i still have it somewhere) and tried it. The box i was using had bearings in it. The only thing i did was pull it apart, cleaned it really well, put in the new bearings and seals and filled it with grease. The hardest part was adjusting it and that's a piece of cake. Just use a inch pound torque wrench ( the needle type not the click type ) to adjust the drag as you are turning the box. John

I vaguely remember seeing an article too. If you dig it up please post the magazine/month/year or even better, scan it and post. I too have a fast ratio sector I bought a while ago and never used. I might install it...

The magazine article wa from mopar action; they give all of the part #'s and which bearing(s) are no longer avaliable. I did min e about two years ago and had a hard time getting some of the pieces from my local dealer, as they are getting thin in the supply area. Good luck!

Firmfeel.com advertises a rebuild kit on their site...in case anyone has never dealt with them ...mopar only! Dick Ross is a good guy to deal with also
