Ok well idk if it's rare but I have yet to see another dart with the same wheel mine came with.

http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1970/70_Dart0008.jpg

It came with the steering wheel option code S83. I removed the wheel about a year ago because it was cracked and had no horn. Web I found that link I realized my wheel was a rimblow (with a rim that hasn't blow for decades im sure). I replaced it with a pretty shabby tuff wheel repop that pretty much is no good.

I've decided I wanna restore the original wheel so itll b safe and work properly and reinstall it. Miss the skinny rim and huge diameter anyhow. My problem is I don't know who to trust since like I said I dnt see this wheel anywhere. I hope mine is repairable because I dnt want to have to track down another one. Any ideas or good places to go to? Anyone here a wheel restorer? It needs absolutly everything redone. Are they hard to find?

There are steering wheel restorer's out there. Do your home work, and be prepared to open your wallet, it usually isn't cheap. I'm sure others will chime in with more info for you.

Ya luckily it ain't something I need to do right away but it's something I'd really like out back on in workin order. It's 1 of 3 options my car came with as far as i c: S83 wheel, ac (which I threw out cuz it was cut up when I got the car), and 225 /6(soon to be swapped for a 360). Figure I might keep 1 option from factory, especially if it's rare

here is a guy that can do a great job on it no matter how bad.

he has redone a woodgrain wheel for me and it is flawless. be prepared to spend some good money though....:D

i used woodgrainwheels on 2 wheels camaro and 69 dart got them back horn pad redone also horn switch very please with the work that i sent him 2 more to restore --his name david 812-593-4328 is number check out is site

Rare.....Yes.....but ugly. I sold a nice complete S83 wheel a month ago on eBay, it was green and pretty decent. My 70 Dart also had one but it was pulled and replaced with a tuff wheel cause the rimblow was in bad shape. That wheel was an option on all 1970 model cars. Did you need a horn pad? I may have one, I also know where there are 2 in a junkyard.

Thanks for the mention and referral!

Here are a few examples of what I can do. Everything from the S83 rim blow wheel you mentioned (This one is in a customers car from Saskatchewan) to the more common wood grain rim blow wheels and everything in between including a wheel for the Batmobile :)

I can repair/refinish any Plastic/ Hard Rubber/ Bakelite or real Wood wheel. I also build custom wheels for hot rods and street rods and any color/colors, trim, flames, fades can be accomplished.

You can check out my web site at : stwheelz.com or my facebook page for more pictures and information. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Steering-Wheel-Guy/200617011737

dont really care for them myself, i have had a couple and replaced them with tuff wheels. they remind me of a chebby wheel. but the rim blow function is cool
