old heads on new block help!

Hey guys need a little help please. I just picked up a 80s 318 short block fresh from rebuild but I need to put on a set of heads, lifters and push rods from a 75 318 engine. I need to know if this is a straight swap over...new gaskets slide in the lifters and push rods and bolt back on the rockers. Have yet to do any:-s head work so I wanna make sure i get this right. Please let me know if I am missing anything. Thanks for any help!

Like was said, as long they are both flat tappet cams you're fine. If the cam is brand new, you need to use a cam break in lube... It's sold in paste and liquids... I like the paste from Crane Cams myself. But coat the lobes and the flat bottoms of the lifters, but not the sides. I use white lithium for most other points - rockers to shaft, pushrod ends, valve tips, etc.

I have no idea why a question like this is stupid. It's rookie, yes. But the critical responses convey the wrong message. Tech help is help, not abuse. Even when the questions are newbie.
