A lot of this depends on how far your project is going to go. Do you forsee EVER going to a fuel cell? If even maybe, now's the time to do it. If not, as a minimum, get a 3/8" sender (I've even seen 1/2" out there). If you can stand the noise, get a Holley blue pump, a decent inline filter, and a coil of 3/8" aluminum fuel line. A mechanical fuel pump will work for a cruiser, but they still have the occasional problem with vapor lock. There are quieter elec pumps out there but they cost more. As long as you don't add a lot of spray, this will suffice until the car gets into the 10's.
