CHRYSLER external alternator conversion and schematic

Does anyone know of any article with this topic?
This is a conversion from an External to an Internal alternator for a Plymouth Barracuda.

Thanks so much in advance..

Maverick do you possibly mean external to internal regulator? If so Powermaster makes a Chrysler alternator with an internal regulator that they call a one wire unit. Other than that you'd need to install a GM type because I don't think Chrysler ever used an internally regulated alternator.

if it is the 1 wire, just take the regulator out, take the green and blue wires going to the alt and get rid of them. the blue wire is fed by the same lead to the 12v(ignition switch) side of of ballast. also do the ammeter bypass to avoid possibly cooking wires since 1 wire alts are usually 70+ amps.

Has anyone here ever converted an external regulated alternator into an internal one (Chrysler/MOPAR Only)???

What to do with the wiring harnesses, in this case?

I would appreciate any comment.
Thanks so much in advance..

read what i said again. almost all( except a few gm) internal regulated alts are 1 wire. that main feed goes directly to the battery.

Never heard of anyone converting one over. Tuff Stuff makes a 60 amp and a 100 amp chrome Chrysler one wire alt. and Powermaster makes one also. As far as the wires you have left over, just tape'em up and stuff them into some wire loom and hide them.
