These actually work pretty well on a drag car. The old Direct Connection Bible has a diagram showing where to epoxy them up to correct any flow problems. The problem with using them on a street car is the same as you would have with any tunnel ram style manifold and its not any worse than the other little idiosyncrecies that you have to endure when driving a race style motor on the street. There were 2 of these for sale at the Mopar Nats last year for $1200 each. I think one sold but I'm not sure about the other. I've owned several of these over the years and the biggest problem I ever saw with them was that the lids would tend to crack around where you bolt the carbs(probably from the weight of the carbs when the front tires would slam down on the superstockers they were on) There is a guy who sells umbrellas at all of the big Mopar shows and he has had one of these on his 1968 Dart convertible for years.

Another thought, You might be able to make a little more power with a single four but as far as visual impact goes you cant beat a STR12. The OH S**T factor is very high.

That's a real nice un. Love the linkage and all. It should bring what you're askin.

Here is something interesting that I noticed when I dug mine out to look at it, the water bypass hose on my intake is at an angle, the other intake shown has the nipple straight.. soooooo, it would make sense that there was more than one casting done......Hmmmmmmmm

Mine was straight too. Angle made more sense to me. I had to run a 90 and a close nipple out of mine.

Nice set-ups. It sure would be cool if somebody could re-cast these for less than 5 grand apiece.. there are so few "glory parts" ever made for smallblocks.. you have...

The STR12
273 Commando valve covers and air cleaners
340 Six Pac Stuff

and thats it.

Well, ok, the Mr Norm's Superrcharger set-ups.

Did I miss anything "sorta factory" that has the OOH AAH appeal when the hood goes up?:banghead:

Good point there Mark... Cal Customs don't look too bad either..also rare as hen's teeth for an affordable price these days!
The injectors and stacks make for definite OOH AAH appeal too!

Probably what you meant in the first place.. LOL!

Half the stuff I think is cool came from a March 1978 Car Craft Fine Lines series on the A bodies..anybody else remember that issue? I remember a 66 Dart that had the STR12 on it and I've wanted one ever since..

Now if somebody could just point me to a fiberglass dash shell for my 69 Valiant.. they had one of those in there too.

Thanks to all the pic posters in this thread.. you just made it worse!

I have one on my Duster, they work well althourgh the moden Air Gap will yeld better performance.
Linkage's on mine are not the oridginal ones & the second carb is only opening half way, been looking at after market ones to fix the problem.
As there is not many if at all here in Oz the general comment when I open the bonnet at any show is " arr big block " then they say " small block who makes these & how do I get one? ".
