I am from Sullivan WI and I am looking to sell or trade my 340 and cast iron overdrive A-body trans and bellhousing. The engine is a 69 340, deep oil pan, fluidamper harmonic balancer, adjustable valve train, unknown cam specs, M1 single plane manifold. It is an ex race built but not race used engine and I have never had the engine apart except for the intake, It ran very well. I got a car with the engine and was going to put in my Duster a few years back and went with a mild 360 instead. The crank appears to be a 273 crank with a small pilot. I am looking for best offer on the engine/trans. I am willing to trade for an A-body, Dodge truck or run something past me of equal value.

4spdragtop, seeing a 7-10-69 casting date must be for a '70 car. 171363 is the last digits of the vin, so it's a '70, late '69 would be like 4XXXXX.

Thanks Dave! Sorry to hijack the thread here, but maybe someone can answer this?? I have seen engines on here for sale that arent orig to the sellers car, but they know what the engine came out of....how do you decipher what the engine originally came in??

is the shifter a OD shifter or a 4 speed one I am looking for one
Interested in rockers and shafts also
