Need some fitment help. Will the 338s 18x8 +14 front and 18x9.5 -4 rear fit on a 69 barracuda? I have factory suspension, a 8 3/4in rear end, and a 4 piston Wilwood front disc brakes.
I believe the fronts are 4.5 backspace and the rears are 5
Any help would be appreciated.

would probably be pretty close but I think you might get away with it. I have 17x8s with a 4.5" back spacing on my 67 dart. I don't have enough room under my rear quarters for the 9.5" rims but the Cuda doesn't have that problem. Make sure you post some pics if you get them.

Ok thanks for the reply. I just don't wanna buy the wheels then they not fit. I have to be sure.

I just put a set of 16" rims on my car before it goes into storage. the fronts are 16x8 +15 offset and they fit perfect. Your 18" will fit even better. Should look really good.

Im thinking those fronts should have more backspacing. Like 5" being minimum.

I have the 18x8's all the way around. I originally wanted the 18x9.5's in the rear but they were really close to the lip and I would have had to raise the rear up to clear.

What exact tire size and backspacing/offset doe you have front and rear?

What's the distance from the tops of you wheel lips to the ground front and rear?

I'm trying to fit 17x9 with 275/40/17 tires on very soon. I know the front bottom edge of the front fender lip needs to be moved out/cut/bent 1.5-2"x3" triangle. We'll see what else it needs. I'm sure over 5.0" backspacing. My rear wheel lips are rolled allready.

Autox,
Let me look and get back to you. It has been a while. I am pretty sure 17x9 with 5" bs will fit the rear. I will move the Cuda to a level spot tomorrow and measure for you.

Is it me or do the A body Fish have a bulge in their front fenders? I have 18x9s on the front and 6.57" bs. If they were like 6" bs I bet they would be MAXED at the top of the fender lip. Like probably rub even...

They do have a bulge. But, the lip is inset all the way around around. Gain some, lose some. In the front, they are closer on the top of the fender lip than you would think by looking at them. I've switched front tires between my 68 Cuda and 68 Dart.

I should measure the space from the top lip to the inner fender. I think I've done it before, but didn't keep notes. I wonder if the top fender support brace is the same part number between the two cars?

What size tires are you running up front? Does you tires hit the sway bar or rear frame at full lock to lock steering? If so, how much.

I have 275/35/18s. On the wheels they are basically perfectly flush with the lip of the wheel. With the 6.5 bs I can get a finger between the tire and top of fender lip. I have Hotchkis 67-72 front bar and it clears by a mile. Frame rail wise I have about 3/8" in worst spot.

Rear top of wheel lip = 26 1/8
Front top of wheel lip 25 1/2
Rear tires are 245/45ZR/18 (I have enough room to go about 2" wider)
Fronts are 215/40ZR/18 ( I need to go bigger, but they were a deal)

I am pretty sure my wheels are the #1

1) 18x8 Super Finish Black 5 on 4.5 +14 mm 4.989 p/n 3382-9828
2) 18x8 Super Finish Black 5 on 4.5 +2 mm 4.517 p/n 3382-9812

What wheel size??

D.

18x9s. So your front wheels have just shy of 5" bs? That seems more like what i'd expect, and with that short of a tire should work fine.

So what disk brake setup are you running in the front?

Do you have any wheel spacers in the front?

73+ Discs no spacers. Been thinkin about buying some 3/8" spacers just to fill out the fenders a bit,but not because I need spacers for clearance.

Just a normal BBP upgrade, just chrysler 74 & up stuff. No spacers, never rub or hit anything. Also I have the calipers on the rear because of the 69 style sway bar.

So its looking like ill be ok with these wheels
18x8 up front your saying needs at least a 5in backspace?
18x9.5 in the rear tho will I be ok with factory suspension and brakes??

What side tires front and rear?

Rear you're going to have to be carefull with depending on tire. Might need to roll lip.

Well I originally wanted to mount just the wheels to see how much room I had for tires. I dont mind having smaller profiles tires but 35 would be about the limit. Im thinking maybe a 235/35/18 or 225/40/18 for the front and 265/40/18 or 275/35/18 in the rear

Did you ever get these wheels? Got any pics??
