I'm, unfortunately, selling my '66 Valiant Signet... Slant six, three on the tree. Car has new tires, new interior, newer paint with pin striping on the hood and trunk, new carburetor, fuel pump, alternator, fan and heater hose. She has very straight lines, no rust. The trunk seal needs to be replaced as it leaks when it rains. It does need a little bit of aesthetic work (new windshield) but it's a very good, solid running car! The wheels are painted red, even though in the picture it looks orange, but I currently have discs on the wheels just for a different look.
I'm asking $3,500 cash in person or wire transfer if needing to be shipped.
Shipping is buyers responsibility. Willing to negotiate price a little bit.
Please PM me if you have any questions and I will answer them as best as I can or if you would like additional pictures.
Located in Armona, California
Here's a link to the photobucket album (hope it works) http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/h404/tarynbeiter/Priscilla/
As for the rust, there is a picture of the passenger side rear quarter panel that has a wee bit of corrosion on the bottom. That fastest I've taken this car is about 60 MPH. I've been conditioned to drive nicely, the old cars, and maybe they won't blow up on me. So yes, I'm confident that it could make a long trek :D
Thanks for looking!!

Although I'm wishing you good luck with the sale of your Valiant, I secretly hope that you get to keep it somehow. Even though I don't know you, I think I see your personality coming out in that car, something I bet your husband also saw when he brought it home for you that day!! It's a sweet little car, and I think you 2 belong together!! Geof

I don't know the owner, but I have seen this car in person. It's a nice little ride, but nothing that I've ever been in the market for.

Too bad you are on the other side of the country. I had to part out my 66 Valiant because of Ohio rust. I really liked it, the only difference was mine was a post. Your car looks awesome!

I saw your other thread asking about how to sell it. Deifnitely post some pics of the trunk and engine.

Nice Valiant. As usual, anything worth having is across the country from me.

Good luck with the sale!! 66 Valiants are the best.

Good looking car, good luck with the sale....

It is a good looking car from the pics there are.

You need to post more pics, and answer the questions about rust that others have asked.

I am looking at a 425 mile trip one way to look at the car. If the pics are good enough I would make that drive.

The red wheels don't make a damn bit of difference. Easy enough to change or cover.

That car would sell at Viva Las Vegas. Too new for the car show, but park it in the parking lot at the Orleans with a 5k OBO sign and your cell phone will ring.

Best of luck with the sale

Your question is really "why won't it sell at $3500?". I can give a little perspective, if you can handle honesty. Last December I bought a 64 Valiant convertible near Modesto, CA for $2400, and only because my wife said she liked the photos. It is a slant six, automatic with bucket seats, and nice paint, but needs a top. The drivetrain appears fine, but suspension and steering needs rebuild. Convertibles are worth almost 2x a sedan and a 3 on the tree and bench seats is the least desireable. At least yours is a 2 door.

A few years ago, a guy near me was trying to sell a 65 Dart convertible, with a HiPo V-8 engine. I saw it when I bought some parts, but was too busy with my 65 Dart to consider (plus my wife screamed). I saw a last post from him on craigslist "first one with $3K gets it", so I imagine it sold for that or less.

If you wait long enough, you might get $3500, but if you want to sell in the next few months, maybe $2500 top. It would be worth more in the East or North, but shipping it there might cost $1000. You also need many more photos, like the engine bay, trunk, and underside.

Shipping from California to Georgia is 950 bucks.

I made the mistake of getting a quote a while back on another car and I had 5 companies sending me emails and calling me even though I specifically said in the quote request that I was only *considering* the car and wanted to ballpark the shipping costs.

All of the companies were in the 850 to 1000 range but 2 of them were 950.
