Cowl hoods on Mopars ?

-
i don't have the car all together yet but, i do have a cowl going on mine.
i will have to see if i really like it once the car is complete.

this has a little photoshop work to it but, this is what the dart will look like when she's all done.

they do look good on some mopars but they are just too chevyish for me... i like most of the factory mopar scoops better...

A six-pak hood would look crappy on a Camaro,a hemi scoop would look dumb on a Mustang and a cowl hood looks terrible on a Mopar.Of course JMO and do whatever you like to your own car. :) If I needed that style hood I would go with an AAR looking scoop.

Ive seen pictures of a 5" tall AAR hood on a 70 Cuda. It was pretty cool looking.

I`ve seen that one too.I am actually going to biuld one out of an original AAR hoood that was hacked up by someone who cut out the middle for a blower or tunnel ram setup.Mine will go on my `72 Barracuda street car so I plan to raise it up only an inch or two above stock, should look pretty sweet when I`m done.

im going to the cowl induction hood myself ive tried a six pack scoop on mine and an aeroscoop fiberglass hood ive found that the big forward facing scoops just slow me down ive tried with and without each hood at the track and each time my car runs faster without a hood at all ive found a great site where i can get a hinge fiberglass cowl induction hood for 400.00 check out unlimited products in california they have lots of mopar cowl induction hoods

They dont look bad, I also prefer Mopar scoops, but a cowl hood isnt gonna make the car look bad.

Not to hi-jack this thread,but....

Recently I spotted a late 80's Nissan Maxima cruising through my neighborhood sporting a SIXPACK hood scoop......

Mounted backwards.

BTW: I perfer no scoop. If your gonna run one, I prefer the Mopar scoops on a Mopar.

i dont have one on the car at the moment, but i think im going to put mine on. its a metal cowl welded to a stock hood--4" tall. i dont need it to suck in cold air though---just for the clearance on my carb hat for the turbo setup. its all a personnal taste thing. i think they look fantastic on some cars and not so on others. its all on how you pull the elements of the car together to pull of "the look".

cowl hood means "chevrolet" in french! we should nuke every square inch of france and every cowl hood bolted on a mopar........Does anybody like seeing 1970 & up high impact colors on 69 and older cars? I hate it! .....than again, no one likes me. and i dont have a car :<(

I like the Cowl hood look on Darts, but I'm undecided on 67-69 Cuda's
I think the cars with square shapes seem to look the best 62-67 Nova's, chevell's,

I think they only look good with the hood blacked out. Otherwise it looks like a Chiby!!!

They were designed for that brand X cars. Mopars have enough good
scoops to use, but that's just my opinion. But you know what they say
about opinions. There like #**#@!#$ everones got one!!!

I like em, but I like the ridge line if your going to go with a cowl. Just looks too plain and flat without it. But it looks like we're all across the board on this one, LoL!

I like them. AAR Fiberglass has a picture of a 70 swinger black cowl hood dark red body. Looks good to me, but I like anything thats different from the crowd.

I dont care for them on Mopars. But I guess thats because I like the factory muscle car look. Ron

At a local show I saw one on a 68 Charger. I must say, it honestly didn't look too bad.

Mine is gettings a 6 pack scoop, but I wouldn't put a cowl out of the running if I were to go the glass route
