Need to choose a cam

Gerard - The cam that was in the car was the Mopar Purple shaft .509 hydraulic. (old single pattern cam). I remember it didnt come in until past 3000rpm! But when it did it pulled good....that being said, I wouldnt use it again, or get another. If I were you and you want a nice lopey idle but great street manners and lots of torque and good cyl pressure go w/ Hughes Engines "Whiplash" cam. Infact I had one on the shelf waiting to go in before I sold the Dart to Dan. I've since sold that cam but I'm about to pick another up for the Duster.

You can check it out here. http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/index.php

They've got good roller rockers if you wanna go that route, or stick w/ the stock stuff for the time being. Give Hughes a call and they'll set you up. You wont be disappointed! That cam is sweet for a street cruiser!

That being said, a Comp XE grind is a good choice too as mentioned above!

Also, are you sure your going to be a static 10:1 comp? I'd shoot for more 9 to 9.5:1....run premium pump gas no problem, use the Hughes cam and w/ the heads being worked up nicely you'd be very happy I think
