Seems to me 1911's and Mopars go hand in hand,so I was wondering-
How many other Mopar guys favor the 1911?

Here's mine,it was a stock Para Ordnance P1445 for about 16 of the years I've owned it.I spent a year working for a manufacturer. With full access to the shop after hours,I had the opportuity to do a little upgrading and custom finish work on the cheap,so I transformed it into a companion piece for my car.

First I added their hammer, disconnector, and sear spring,a Guncraft aluminum trigger with overtravel adjustment ,an Ed Brown stainless grip safety, changed to Morris (Heine type) two dot rear sight and eliminated the series 80 firing pin dissconnect.A friend of mine did a 3.5 lb trigger job,and I also had another friend fine tune the barrel and feed ramp, but other than that I did it myself.I already had the Hogue rubber grips and Pachmyer extended slide stop.I didn't change the thumbsafty to an extended or ambidexterous because I didn't feel it was necesarry.

I had it CNC custom engraved, then I reblued it,inlayed it and polished the slide.

It was my first time customizing a 1911 myself, and I learned a few lessons, but overall I am happy with the way it came out.

So,there's my story, let's see some of you favorites!

Is there anything else??? If so, I haven't heard of it...... Don't have any pix of any of mine, but suffice it to say the zombies will regret showing up at my door!!!

I dont have a picture of my Rock Island 1911 but I do have a picture of a couple of my AR's

You are welcome to post your AR pics if you want to.

I tend to favor Kalashnikov's myself.I know people say they have some shortcomings compared to M16/AR variants, but I just love the rugged simplicity of them.

This pic also show's the Para before I did the work.-

And I thought feeding a .45 was pricey,I'd have to really want that can dead!

I used to like shooting rental full-auto sub-guns,but too much $$$
(Uzi,Mac 10,MP5,S&W M76)

One range did have a shorty full-auto 10/22 though, and they would let you bring your own ammo.A 500 rd brick was like 8 bucks back then,me and a buddy tried to wear the barrel out on that thing!

We'd shoot it till our fingers got sore and black from loading mags.

Nice MG42!...but I think you ran out of ammo about .0005 seconds after that pic! lol

KOOOOOL!

I bought this Sig Sauer 1911-22 a little more than a month ago. I have put thousands of rounds through it. It is a sweet shooting gun and deadly accurate. I love this gun. It is a bit of a pain to field strip, bit I own a Ruger Mark III as well, and that is the worst gun ever to break down.

I have to think SIG+1911+.22 has got to be a recipe for fun!

I checked out the Umarex 'Colt' and it was cool, but somehow felt like a toy.

The company I worked for had a .22 conversion, but the action was kind of a long step from a 'traditional' 1911 feel, that looks like a happy medium!

It is a very fun gun to shoot, and the ammo is so damn cheap. I have a Sig P226 that I love, but my daughter and I shoot the .22's more often because it's easier on the hands and arms, and the wallet. We shot 300 rounds of 9mm the other night at the cost of $80. We also shot 1050 rounds through the 1911-22 and Mark III at a cost of $36.

I bet,but good training because when it all comes down to it it's about being happy with the handle, ask the US army!

Even though this is a S&W LAPD Commemorative, I still hook it up often, I'm too old not to enjoy what I have . Just ordered a Noveski AR 15 since there are made right here where I reside.

After building 500 or so 'Commerative' 1911's,I don't even want to hear the C-word anymore...

Nice S&W! Where I'm originally from, that's as close as a cop could get to a 1911!

MGs are so much fun lol!! Thats why he also got a MG34, predecessor to the MG42 :toothy7:

Oh yeah!
You're preaching to the choir, timeless designs...I do have a soft spot for M-60's though.
I've forgotten most of what I knew,but can still tell a 34 from a 42! lol
