1963 426 stgII max wedge

1962 is the first year of the max wedge and was 413 with the cross ram and used the 3447S carbs just like the 63 MW engine. In 64 came the stgIII but they never actually designated the 62 MW as being a stgI. It was not announced until May 25th of 62 that they were released to the public and was called the race package. Chrysler called it the race package due to what I always figured that they never actually thought of going beyond the first stage of MW engines. Then in 63 they designated them as stgII and stgIII for 64. Yes there is supposed to be a slope difference in the intake but I always felt it to be more of an internal difference then external, I have compared them side to side and never saw anything outstandingly different to be able to look at them and say that is a stgII and that is a stgIII. And this is why the carb bore holes in the intake are the best way to know what intake you are looking at , as well as the production date.
Here is a pic of the intake date casting number.
