no high pressure rv2 help!

no.......closed. Stuck open (rare) would be VERY high suction pressure, possible damage to compressor, and high head on a warm day.
With the cooling he's getting, there must be plenty of flow. If the valve was stuck shut, you wouldn't get any cooling at all. I agree that usually when the valve sticks shut, you get those kinds of readings because there is no flow but how do you account for the 25 degrees at the evaporator? You would think that the low side reading would be higher though.....maybe some crud got into the dryer and is partially plugging it. It's always possible that the new compressor has damaged reed valves also.
