Hey guys; I have gotten myself into a bit of a mess.

I have 2 daily drivers, and I can't choose which one is better for me..

#1 is a 2000 dodge durango with 253000 kms and the 5.2
it's a good SUV and I'm just replacing almost all front end components and just did all the brakes. and it runs smoothly now.

#2 is my 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo with 245000 km and the 4.7
My mom bought this Jeep new in Feb. of 02 and it has been very well maintained by both my father and I. I have had some good times in the jeep, and it's FAST for being an SUV.

I don't know, I feel like it's time to move on from the Jeep and onto the Durango, but I need to get rid of one to afford my 73 dart sport project..
They both have awesome tires too. lots of tread for burnouts ;)

I,d sell whichever one will bring the most money. We all know how much a project needs extra money.By the way, good to hear from you Mike.Pics of your Dart Sport go........HERE.:D

ive heard horror stories of the 5.2s in the early durangos losing oil pressure. that sure is a lot of miles on it . i would keep the jeep

I'd bet the 4.7 is MUCH more difficult to work on and potentially more problematic.
Not so the 5.2. Think it's a wash on MPG as well. 4.7 has a bit more low end tq.
IMO, Durango is more comfortable, as I don't feel as though my knees are up against the dash and trans hump. Just my 2c.

If it was a 6 cylinder Jeep, I would say keep it for certain. Of course what I REALLY think is to dump both, and get a pickup. If you are going to dump a ton of money into the fuel tank, might as well have a truck. I stepped up from a Grand to a Ram, and never looked back. Neither was my daily, though.

I put 165,000 miles on a 2000 Durango on a mail route. That was 366 stops per day, 113 miles per day. Several stops that were nearly a mile between. Stand on it to 80, hammer the brakes till stopped. Repeat. Repeat. Averaged 12.5 MPG whilst under this abuse. Great vehicle. And once I upgraded to drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads, got 22,000-25,000 miles out of a set of brakes. Sold it when I bought my 2005 Durango HEMI, which also "hauls the mail". I vote Durango, and sell the Cheep!
