Ford 302 and mustang advice

-
Great demo derby car.Just kidding you.Not being a smart *** but couldnt you just join a Ford forum to post about this car. You may even get an offer you cant refuse, plus i,m sure they have a plethora of info. I dont post for info on my Nissan here.

well, I don't mind saying it- I love old Mustangs (too bad the '69 isn't a fastback, though:D). I would love to get another one (either a '66 or a '68- my two favorites).

In this case, like others have said, don't worry about upgrading anything if it's running nicely now -although, yes, a 4bbl and headers/exhaust would perk it up a bit.

WTF? This is a MOPAR site. Why is this posted? Whether you like Rustclangs or not, take it somewhere else!

this is in the GENERAL DISSUSSION forum, many people post up there off brand vehicles that aren't mopar. see the thing about mopar guys is they generally don't bash other brands (sure we bug but not hate)

go look at the thread "post up your toy haulers" if you wanna cry about a bunch of non mopar products! :wack:

Nice car.. smoking deal.. don't listen to the brand blind, mouth breathing morons telling you to scrap it or any other useless advice.. enjoy it a while, preserve it and INSURE it.. probably worth having it appraised. THEN list it on some of the Mustang forums when you are ready.

I'll bet some Ford folks would kill to get hold of one in that condition.. just like we would for a barn find (insert car of your own choice here).
Have a good time with it....

Or keep it! You won't be the first guy to be seduced by the dark side....LOL!

thanks man, can't complain about the price. i don't understand this brand loyalty bull crud :wack:

Because around here the chebby guys (not as much as the ford guys tho) are ignorant asshats. I'm not like them so I went with Mopar. When its just cars tho, I appreciate them all (American made ones that is)

so yea, not like im some sort of ford fan boy. lol

tune it up a drive it.headers are a ***** to put on that car.just get some 60 series tires on it and give it to your girl.

Other than the color that is exactly like my first car. In good tune the 302, 2bbl should run very well.

This is the combo I would use. Gas and a Key.

Yea... so some one literally made me buy their 69 mustang (super cheap) and im pretty ignorant in vintage fords. its stock as a rock 302/2bbl/c4/9"/ 2" duals combo. I was thinking to clean it up a bit and give it to the wifey to drive until she finds a 67-69 barracuda. What do you guys think a good combo is for this car? intake, 4bbl carb, headers, decent exhaust and roll with it? Anyone here got any parts for these engines/cars?

Oh, heres some pics of it.

I post chevy and sand car stuff on here all the time. Got to have a thick skin.

My first car was a Mustang, a 67 GT convertible. When I was a kid, My dad worked as a service manager for a dodge dealer, but restored Mustangs as his hobby. I would go to his shop and see 440's, Hemi's, 383 gts's, Superbee's, R/T's and then drive home in his 65 Mustang hardtop. To this day my 2 automotive passions are Mopar's and Mustang's. Reading some of the posts saying that this post should be removed is rediculous. There are posts about toys, beds, off brands haulers and so on. I thought this was a forum for us to talk about whatever was on our mind or whatever was of interest to us. Good luck with your 69, drive it the way it is.

Don't let them bust your chops too badly .... I have a 67 (It's my wife's) car.

keep it as stock as possible... it will fetch some good money

also trace down the history of the car if you can... you never know who might have owned it. maybe Steve McQueen or something lol

Tune it up make sure it's reliable give it to the wife i like it [too bad it's not a fastback] i like all older cars the same i just happen to own 2 mopars.

I think you got a good deal whether you keep it or not. If you had to have something other than a Mopar then it would have to be a Ford. Back in the 90's I was pretty good friends with a guy in Atlanta who with his father had a number of really nice Ford/Mercury cars and parts etc. Robbie is a really talented mechanic/fabricator. We used to work on my stuff and his, I had 2 69 Darts at the time. Robbie did all the work on the cars in the pics, the 65 had a 351 that would just torture the backroads of NE Atlanta.

You shouldnt have a problem finding a new home for it if you decide to stay pure Mopar. Good luck!

Great car you scored there, my first Hot Rod was a 72 Comet with a 302 2v with a C4, manual steering and brakes. Beat a lot of Mustangs and Camaro's. Not sure why but it was a screamer! Brown with a vinyl top too!

Detail that puppy and drive it while the fish hunt continues. I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on it...just enjoy. Nice car!

You could fit it with a Weiand Xcelerator and a 600 Holley/Carter/Edelbrock carby, and an electronic dizzy.....will be all good.

Really screw people up.. put that big block Mopar in it! You won't be ignored.. that's for sure! LOL!

I have owned them all in the last 40 years, but I love the Mopars. Got my first one in 1972. Nothing wrong with brand loyalty.

Wax it up, change fluids, tune it up, look the brakes and suspension over, and drive it. Then unload it later when you want to. Don't put any unneeded money in it if you plan to sell it. Mods will make it worth less.
