Ok I eventually will be swapping a new 5.7 hemi into my dart, that being said i have a friend that has a 07 truck Hemi that spun a rod bearing, motor is tore apart and dont have intake, pulleys, or wiring harness......but i can pick it up for $450? Is this a good deal still? i figured id put a 6.1 crank in it and rebuild the motor anyways. Would like some opinions looking to pick it up tomorrow evening.

Decent deal.What I normally do is call a parts house for a quote on what the engine is out of.I usually ask the core price.I use that as a quick reference.
 
I have 2truck intakes floating arround the gerage, I could send you one for the cost of shippIng. If you decide to go for it. As ihave no use for Eather one. One was shipped to me a long time ago, has packing peanuts in tha runners. Theother came off of my wrecked truck. I'll ship you the one from my truck. If anyone wants the other please let me know.
 
if it was me i would wait until you get a more complete package, not all torn down, and even without a spun bearing. the core value of an engine block is maybe $200-$400. in my opinion this might not be your best option to spend your money. putting a 5.7hemi in an older car is expensive enough to start with... very expensive. and by getting something that is torn apart and half there you are putting yourself behind the 8-ball
 
your best bet for a 5.7 hemi swap is to go visit all the local towing yards and salvage yards. have them take your name and number and tell them you need a wrecked vehicle with a motor. get their business cards and call them every week or two. getting ahold of a totalled vehicle as your donor will save you a ton of headaches.
 
Thanks for the input, I ended up getting motor for $300, it actually had the complete motor, powersteering pump the water pump so does have the pulleys, most the harness, pistons all look good, crank is 50/50 but Ive seen some 6.1 cranks kinda cheap, the headed rockers and etc were good shape. This will be a couple year build so taking my time and trying to decide to carb or efi. 03ramit1 I'll take that intake I'll pm u my info.
