So some of you may know Dad had decided he wanted another car, so he asked me to start looking. He gave me a limit on $$ but not on what to look for. Basically a blank canvas with limits on the $$. What I found for him is a super solid 67 "S" fastback. We bought it from another member on here. Dad left the communication between me and Jim up to me and put all his trust in me. Dad didnt want a big project, but something that he and I could work on and complete without having to farm out a lot of the work. This fish was a perfect fit for us as there is some work to do, but nothing too technical and something that we could work on together. Here is the breakdown as far as the fendertag goes.
It is a 67 "S" fastback with 273 super commando, 8 3/4 suregrip, decor pkg, tach, 150 speedo, a/c, front disc brakes, AM/FM radio, buckets with headrests, automatic with console. Original color was Gold Metallic, with black interior.

Here is a list of parts that we need for the car
drivers side front "barracuda" script
rear drivers side backup lens
drivers side rear tail light housing
sliding part of hood release

1st thing to be done is get the engine pulled, regasket and reseal. While the engine is out we will send the car out to have the engine bay touched up as well as some minor exterior touchups. Once that part has been done, the AC and heater core will be hooked back up, dunno if we will get it charged or converted, but it will be hooked up to look as it did when it left the factory. I know dads car will progress a hell of a lot quicker than mine, and we are hoping to have it ready for some car shows this year. Thanks for looking and kudos to Jim and his brother for not only finding this car, but for the work they have done. Also for giving dad and I the opportunity to work on this together.

Thanks for looking

Thanks guys, Eric Im going to take the prev owners advice and reseal and regasket as the motor has sat for a couple years. The engine has to come out to paint the engine bay properly, so while its out I will sandblast the pieces that I can and will "freshen" it up. Better to be safe then sorry and a engine kit wont cost much, besides its Dads money right??? LOL

Wow.. that is one clean fish Steve! Looks like it's gonna be like old times :)

"Hey Dad, can I borrow the car?"

LOL

That car was a pure pleasure to restore. I'm not use to working on cars that are so clean to start with. There wasn't a bit of rust in that car. I'm use to midwest cancer. This car still had the California black license plates on it when we started on it. I'm not sure what pictures Jim gave you? I think he has every one that I have. If you are in need of anything from me, feel free to just ask.
PS. what is this sliding hood release piece you need? Do you have a picture of one. I have a bunch of crap laying around but just can't picture it in my minds eye what it is.

First..Steve, Im glad you all made it back safely. That is a real nice looking car..........Im sure you and of Course dad is real happy. See yah Edd

Hey Jay, He's looking for the part that you would pull on to open the hood. It is to the right of the actual catch and pivots. I am unable to find the one that was on the car, but am still looking. :dontknow:

kudos to Jim and his brother for not only finding this car, but for the work they have done.

While I was the actual owner of the car, Jay is the one who did all of the work. He did an amazing job and any of the kudos for a job well done should go to him. Even though he doesn't currently have an A-body I am happy that he has joined FABO. He won't admit it but he will be a great resource for all of us.

Hey Jim, thanks for looking! And thanks to Jay for the work on it. Your "family" affair on this car has now been handed to us as a "family" affair. Believe me Dad and I will do this car justice and our best to preserve it in its original form. I sent Jay a pm with my email, but here is a pic of what I need, the sliding part and the bolt. I believe the bolt has a "bushing" of some kind. If you cant find it, no big deal, but if you can that would be great!!

Thanks
Steve

Very nice looking fish Steve, it looks like your Dad scored big time with that one. BTW, I love the early wheels on the car.
