Temples Auto Salvage in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.
DO NOT GO HERE.

While it is loaded with a boatload of Mopar parts cars, the assclown running it is apparently not in the business of making money.

I called him on looking to pick up a steering column and engine brackets and he says he's got what I need and to come on down. $150 for a column in great shape with excellent condition wheel, pad, and even the key, $150. Engine brackets with power steering pump, $50. A little higher than I was looking to spend, but I said that I'd be willing to pay it. I asked if I could look around his yard, as I was going to need a rear brake setup for a B-Body in the future, and he tells me to go ahead, take my time, and that all of his Mopars are in opposite corners of his nice sized yard.
After 2-3 hours of wandering the ENTIRE place, and marking several cars on my phone's GPS to come back for, I head back to the front with my toolbag and one,(yes, I said ONE), interior trim panel. It was in ok shape, but I just needed it to use as a pattern to cut my own panels anyway.
I toss the tool bag in the back of the truck and start walking inside, when this guy, (His name is Russel, BTW), comes storming out the door saying.. "We CHECK BAGS!!!". I told him, "OK" and got the bag back out of the back for him to inspect. After he rifles through the bag like he's looking for a ticking bomb, I ask him how much he wants for the panel. He asks me 20 questions about what it is, where it goes, what I'm going to use it for, etc. Then quotes me a price of $15. When I repeated his quote to confirm that I heard him correctly, he snatches the panel, walks a couple of steps and tells me, "That's ok, you don't have to buy it.", then stomps back into the building and closes the door behind him.
So, I shrug it off, chalk it up to miscommunication, get my wallet from the truck and go in to buy the column and bracket. When I walk in, I tell him, "I'll still take that column and brackets from you that we talked about.". He replies, "No, I'm not gonna sell it. It won't fit your car anyway." (I have a '72 Dart, the column was from a '73 Valiant). I said, "Are you sure because I looked it up before I came out here and I read that it'll fit.". He comes back with, "Yeah, I don't know but I'm not going to sell it.". So, I say, "Ok, well I guess I'll just take the brackets then.". He says, "Nope, I won't sell you that either.". I look at him for a few seconds waiting for him to tell me he's joking, but he just stares at me. I told him thanks for letting me waste my afternoon, and left.
Turns out, I hear from an older guy that I know that this jerk has been like this for years and he doesn't know how someone hasn't shot this guy yet. He apparently sold something to someone once and ran out, took the part out of their truck and tossed their cash at them, which fell and blew all over the place. I also trust this source as he is the husband of this DBag's cousin.

So anybody in the area, AVOID this place. His prices are ridiculous, his selection is mostly rust, and he's an ***.
:wack:
