Here is the story, We lived in Peace River and I bought the car from a neighbor, Would only sell to me cause he knew I would restore it. It is a 1968 Barracuda Convertible and while there is some rot it was not a basket case. I bought it for my wife, She loved driving my satellite so much I had to get here her own wheels.
I restored my 68 Satellite and did a rebuild on my sons Supra. I build engines as a hobby. So I have some skills.
Took it home stripped it and washed it up, Then I sandblasted the entire body. Laid on my back for many hrs doing the bottom.
Then we decided to move to Edmonton area and Build a new home so the car has been on hold for 2 years.
Finished house last fall so finally got at the car this winter.
Tore out the entire floor pan (got a new one to put in) will deal with all the rot and clean things up.
So I got a lot of metal work to do. Got a mig welder on gas.
It’s a big project but I just love being in the shop with the tunes cranked and tinkering away. The wife doesn’t seem to mind how much time I spend on the car. Funny that.
Plan on putting in a fairly warmed up 360 (aluminum heads) so she has lots of jam to fend of the imports.
Planning on either white on red or red on white. Haven’t got there yet.
Like everyone I am constantly scouring the internet looking for parts at a reasonable price with reasonable shipping to Canada. UPS is very costly and many canucks know.
Any way will keep this updated.
So thanks for the welcome and will keep you posted.
