Stupid Ebay Buyers, why pay more then Amazon

When it comes to retail, I've found that most new item sellers charge less on their websites than on eBay. And more than once after asking a question, the seller directs me to their actual site. I think eBay is more of a marketing tool for some sellers. They have no choice but to charge more due to the listing, final value, and seller paypal account fees. I had a pretty good eBay side business years ago. If you have a niche market, you can do OK. But for lowest price for readily available items, it's almost never the right choice. I say almost, because there are cases where eBay makes it pretty easy to buy from little mom and pop shops in other countries. I recently bought a set of British made Wipac driving lights for my Cooper from a little garage in England. Even after paying the VAT taxes, and shipping, and of course converting from $ to Pound, it was better than I could do domestically. So much so, that when I realized I accidentally purchased chrome, rather than stainless, I put them for sale on a MINI forum classifieds here in the US, and made $40.00 over the total I paid.
