5.2 mag in 72 swinger

Are you planning to keep the EFI and all the donor engines ancillaries? If you keep all the stuff off the new engine, then you should still be able to splice in the wires to activate the clutch...there might be a signal wire needed for the wire harness if your staying with EFI so the computer can adjust the idle, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to make it work with ease.

I have a '72 Scamp and I'm swapping the old tired [and making death noises] 318 for a '98 5.2...just the engine though, and I'm keeping it carbed. I wanted to swap in an OD tranny, but I can't seem to find one that isn't a 4x4, and the engine itself was free to me. Mine also has A/C, but I planned to put on a kit from Bouchillion Performance...
