Where is the sending unit for the gauge? It should be right at the back of the engine. Is it possible you pinched a wire somewhere?

The gauge is a mechanical gauge so there is a line that runs from the engine to the gauge. The oil line attaches to the engine next to the distributor hold down. Guess I will just have to trace the wire from the instrument cluster back to the sending unit...
