Max piston to wall clearance, TRW Forged 2316

I recall a few posts in FABO on this. You need more clearance for forged pistons since they expand more, which is one reason they are best for "race only" applications. You might hear some piston slap in daily driving. If having it honed at a machine shop, leave your pistons with them to check the fit. I have read about shops knurling the skirts to raise the metal slightly to get them tighter, but that may lessen the life. I would only do that on rare and expensive pistons like 273 HiPo.
