**** SOLD ****Here is a used early 70s genuine " Chrysler Parts " hood tach in excellent condition. This tach has 3 wires later tachs had 4. It hasent been on a car in years but was working when removed i havent tested it so it will be sold as is. Made by Dixco for the Chrysler Parts division. These are hard to find compared to the generic reproductions commonly found for sale. This has the correct large steel mounting nut and 2 small anti spin screws not the plastic mounting nut and phillps screws. The light is mounted behind the bezel which was found on early tachs later models had the light in the rear of the housing. Im only selling this because i have another mint used one and a N.O.S one i dont need 3 so here is your chance to buy a original hood tach. $800.00 payment by Paypal PM me here if your interested, thanks FABO for the free ad.

I just bought that 4spd for console which wasn't cheap but I talkto the boss into it. And would like to buy plots Duster to restore for my one daughter. My wife is going to lose it. But I'll try.I'll think of something. It would free up a indash tach spot and make room for a clock or a performance guage. See if its still here by the end of the week.

One question. Is there room to move on that? Yes or no?

Jesus Jones!!! I bought 3 of those things, new in the box off a dusty old shelf in the back of an old Plymouth dealership in the mid 80's. Got em for $5 each....and sold em for $50 each a few years later. Guess I shoulda kept em arond a little longer! :banghead:

shwing, shwing!

This tach has 3 wires later tachs had 4.

:eek:ops:

Early tachs had 4 wires; later tachs had only 3 wires!

The tach you are showing is a 1975 Tach with 3 wires and round plugs.

1973-1974 tachs had also 3 wires with quadrathic plugs.

Usually, the tach with 3 wires and round plugs, don't have the blue silk screened Chrysler logo, they had the white pentastar.

Like this:

Holly Bank Accounts Batman! I'm going with a new OER from Jegs and putting my own Penstar on it for $240.00ish. Very nice for the hard core #'s guys.

I'll settle for a re pop one. Nice piece but way out of my league price wise. Bump for your sale, Good Luck!

My N.O.S Chrysler Parts hood tach which is still in its original box has a date code of Oct 1972 it has 3 wires. Thats a early tach in my experience later tachs had 4 wires but i could be wrong either way my 3 hood tachs are all early 70s manufactered.

Dixco Tachs are tested trough the Hot Rod magazine in 1969. They talk about 4 connecting wires. You can also see the 4 wires on the pictures:

Sorry guys i was wrong this tach is a later 70s unit but still a genuine Dixco tach and made in the mid 70s i thought it was a early 70s piece thankyou for the info mrta340 .

That’s correct. The Mopar Hood Tach is a genuine Dixco unit in very good condition. It’s a rare part of history.

The price is justified. Keep in mind; you have to pay up to the triple price for a NOS one. The last one I saw on eBay was a 2000 USD tach.

It’s very hard to find an original Mopar one, it can take years!

Bump for ya. The weekends coming. More people on here looking. Good luck

Ha.I am patient. I don t need the tach til the cars done. So I got all kinds a time to find one. Did you ever sell the one you started a frenzy over in my thread mrta?

Yes, I sold a NOS Mopar Tach to a HEMI owner.

I still have a display cabinet full of NOS tachs. Many Mopar's, Dixco’s, Ford, Balkamp, Strandix, Alpesa …

Probably, I will sell to a later date a second one.

A small view:

Why, you don’t buy the tach from TX9 4-spd Demon ?

It is a great tach in perfect condition. The price is more than fair. My NOS tachs are not so cheap. :yawinkle:
