I picked up a set of small bolt pattern rallye rims for my 72 dart, got a good deal on them but I'm lookin to buy tires. What tires are you guys running on rallye rims, I wan't to be as big as possible in the rear without rubbing, what has worked for you guys? Thanks!

205-70-14 for the front.

215-70-14 for the rear.

Those wheels can't take a very wide tire and tire selection is very limited with a 14" wheel these days.

I'm am running B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's 225/70R14 all the way around on my 66 Barracuda no problems, no rubbing.

There are a bunch of posts regarding this question if you search. I read most of them before I bought a new set of tires. I just went through the same thing with my 72 Swinger. I had 10 year old Firehawks 215/70/14 all the way around on AR 6 inch. I have 5.5 rallyes now with a new set of 215/70/14. Even then there isn't much more than a finger width between the tire and fender, and 1 inch to springs. Some 215s list 5.5 as minimum wheels. You can probably get a section width of 225 or more under the back on 5.5. But.....A 215 looks about right to me. I would guess a 225/70 would rub the front, at least on my car, since the 215 fits with no rubbing.

I dont have the Rallyes but I do have the 14x7 slots and Ive got 245's in the rear and 215 in the front. Im about to buy new tires and ive decided on going 255 in the rear and 225 in the front.

245 is the widest 14in you can buy (Radial T/A)

Thanks guys! I'm thinkin some sort of radial T/A considering they seem to be my only option, somewhere online I found a set of 245's so I'm thinkin those.

If you have a stock suspension 235-60-14 will fit front and rear with no rubbing.
Ran this same tire size for years on my last a-body.

A close friend of mine is running 255 M/T's with 14 in rims on his mustang. It just takes a lot of work to find them. plus it they dig into the wallet quite a bit i heard.

i have 245-60-14 on 14x8 stock rallys in rear and 205-70-14 on 14x6 rallys on front all sbp on 70 duster bfg tires and the stance looks great

I have been following this and other adds but still confused. I have also been wondering what size tires to put on my stock rallys and I want to go as wide as I can on my 72 Duster and still have them look like they belong. Going wider on the back is ok but I also want to go as wide as I can on the front without rubbing? What will work?
245, 235, 225, X 60, 65 70. Give your thoughts, what is the best combo?

The stock Abody rallyes are 5.5 inches wide. Widest tire for that rim size is a 215. But wider tires have been mounted on 5.5 inch rims and worked. They just wear the center of the tire out quidker than the edges.

215 70/14 all around T/A,S OF COURSE
