Good catch. I got caught by one of those once. It wasn't PayPal it was Craigslist. But I didn't realize until immediately after I had "logged in" meaning gave them my account information. I promptly changed my password, then deleted the account and created a new one just to be extra safe.

Yes I had this happen to me twice, once thru craigslist and the second thru racing junk. About a month apart the same story actually giving more money than asking and pay the extra fees, ect. They gave the same story at sea forgot credit card help me with shipping cost thru western union pay money and I will send extra on top or price ba ba ba ba ba.

The scamers are good and get your hopes up thinking your selling your goods.:wack: Stay sharp always call paypal and ask the customer serve person if the transaction # is a good one, good catch and thanks for posting for others to read. Don't take anything for granite?????????????? Dan

The rule is to never click on a link in an email......go the address of the organization in question and log in there.

Here's one I got a while back, on an MSD Ignition I had listed on craigslist.

Pay attention to the incoming email addresses, and my short response. If someone can't at least give me more than 3 words, they won't get any decent response from me either.

to me

I really appreciate your response to my email. I want you to consider
it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from CL to avoid
disturbance, anyways I don't have time to come over to take a look
because of my Business but you don't need to bother yourself with the
shipment, I'll take care of that by engaging the services of a mover,
hence I'll be sending a Certified check and it will be delivered to
you via United Parcel Service (UPS), so I'll need you to provide me
with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check.
Full name on the check.
Full Physical address to post the check
City, State and Zip Code
Home & Cell Phone to contact you.
Note that the payment will be shipped to your address via UPS NEXT
DAYAIR SERVICE and I will like you to know that you will not be
responsible for shipping i will have my mover to come over as soon as
you have cashed the check*
N.B UPS does not deliver to a P.O box addresses. Thanks

'You nigerian ***** sure are stupid. Stop scamming people and get a real job, *******.'

I edited out the stuff that couldn't be posted, but I'm sure you can guess what I told him :D Strange, but I never heard a response after my last email to him :finga:

my dad was going through the spam folder of my parent's email account deleting the emails even after I told him that he didn't have to. He came across a paypal one that looked legit at first glance that said they needed to pay something. I looked at it and it said paypal@paypaI.com . I said, don't click on that it's a scam and luckily he didn't. But he still made me delete my parent's and my paypal account. probably since mine got hacked and ended up making me get a new debit card.

i would like to hunt all the lazy butted scamers and credit / debit card theives out there and beat there eyeballs back in there head, then put them shoveling poop with a spoon , it t's me off im trying to work for an honest living and someone spends all there time trying to steal it:angryfir:
