I pulled out the gauges from my 68 yesterday. every pin on the back of the main cluster was broke. not problem I guess, i have a spare board. One of the pins on the other board was broke as well and the other two are loose. Before i pulled the cluster, volt and oil pressure worked.

Once i put everything back together on the cluster, how do i check it before i install it. I originally thought the volt limiter was shot, so i have one ready to go. now that i found out the pins were broke, do i assume the limiter is good?

What would you do?

I had the same problem on a 70 charger i had years ago , and it had the same round pattern on the back kept breaking pins off , find another one same think .Something tells me i seen where this are in reproduction now you can buy them , not sure who sells them though

How about powering up the cluster before installing it. I'm thinking about disabling the limiter in the gas guage while its out and installing the replacement one. I was also going to put a drop of solder on each pin to reinforce it.
