I was looking for the ball joint disaster to confirm this Jason but if he got powder in the threads that's actually the least of your worries my friend.
Ball joints have rubber and a sealed grease fitting inside that DOES NOT SURVIVE THE HEAT OF THE CURE. It shouldn't have been coated at all in the first place, let alone cover up the threads. Good luck with that.
