Sure feels weird after what, 6 months, of driving a junker Ford Taurus and switching to my Dart. Strong Arm Steering and no power brakes sure are different compared to the Taurus. One thing I forgot is how long my car takes to switch to 2nd gear when going slow, 3000 rpm! Yet if Im going fast or stomp on it then it shifts nice and quick and smooth. Sounds weird compared to the Taurus. God I missed driving Old School Muscle...

I know the feeling. Started driving mine last weekend, first time in 2 years. My lady prefers riding in her baby Benz and yes, its a nice ride but there's nothing like the feeling of strong arming an old car with lumpy cam and loud pipes.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't your transmission shift at a lower RPM than that with only a little throttle?

Anyways I know the feeling too, took a couple drives to get back the hang of manual brakes on my '70 Duster. Gotta hit the pedal hard lol!

oh i no that feeling going from my truck to my car and the reason why it takes longer is cause it has to build up the pressure to shift my truck does that alot and its the same trans in my car i love old schools and im only 21 just wish i had a different rear end under my car so i can feel the power it has:burnout:

Stomp on it all you like, just remember, "approximately $4.00 a gallon, and when you stop on the old carb'd engines, you looking at about 3 to 5 mpg.

I let my son use the 72 Swinger (360/380hp mopar crate) he put about 80 miles on it that weekend, and used nearly a tank of gas doing it.... "Honest, I wasn't flogging the car, Dad"! lol

Oh I know but I don't have much else in my life to spend money on anymore :D

Besides here in Canada gas is even more expensive than down there,,,

:wack:

141.9 per liter here this morning so ...:protest: :banghead:
time to get rid of the 4.56 gears and install the 3.55
or even better get hybrid duster :vom:

1.26 here when I filled the dart two days ago...

need to go fill it again before my road trip :D

I haven't driven my cuda yet, even though I could. I kinda wanna just drive it around the neighborhood before I rip into the interior (needs sound deadener, am doing that definitely) and take the engine out this year (hopefully). Weirdly brakes feel harder than my caprice initially, but don't do anything. :D So I gotta stomp on them pretty hard. I also realized how limp wristed my arms became after driving nice cushy easy power steering all winter last year. It'll probably be worse this year. :D
