shifter adapter?

I just bought a factory 69 shifter and console. I used the setup for shifter console placement in my resto thread. When the car is assembled I will be going with the adapter and the pistol grip. I have a friend that is using this adapter with a a-body non console shifter handle. I put the handle in a press for him and put an arc in the handle to move the ball back over a little to the left that the adapter moved it to the right . It looks and works perfect. A Pistol grip would need a slight 'S' double arc to make it stand straight up instead of just an angle to the left.

I under stand your concern for speed shifting a pistol grip on a Comp plus base. When coming back for second you have a tendency of pulling to the left an getting caught in the side throw for reverse. I had alot of b-bodies in the past and got use to pulling straight back. My car will have a hurst Super shifter Base same as installed in my thread. Push down for reverse . Can't miss second unless your an idiot..

Note in pics below the super shifter has stronger linkage except for revese rod held to compare. The others are straight and reinforced. Much better than the factory mechanism. Just some input from experience I have had over the years.

No, the assembly I have is not forsale. And yes a automatic console fits right on with the auto carpet. And they do repop the 4spd top plate . This is good info . you can buy everything new for 4spd console shift. No rechroming. No wood decal. or finding that rare plastic 4spd console base. Good luck and hope this info helps those who care.

It wasn't cheap to find this out. And I wont be using any of the parts I bought. This also make putting a console in a AC car possible . the auto consoles for AC are different and 4spd consoles won't work. It makes it possible for me to put AC in my car .

Now I need to find a AC 70-71 340 car for a parts car. If not say good buy to the 70 I pictured. I don't care How many I destroy I am building what I want. So what ever it takes. And it will have data plates to match the options. So you number guys can get out the tissues. I'm placing my order for a Duster and filling it myself.

Oh yeah notice I used the wrong year 1969 hump. No Cassette placement indent. But its not getting one anyway. I'll need one for the Demon and I am considering the NOS forsale. These are bolted in place with self taps not welded.
