Looking for wheel ideas for my new notchback. What do you think of a dark blue notchback with 15x6 Torq Thrust wheels up front and 15x10 Steelies out back. Anyone have any pictures of some thing like this setup on a notchback? I couldn't find anything, but I think it would be a good old school look.

Been thinking the same thing for my project scamp that's a combo you don't see much of anymore hope you post pictures when you find them

I ran steelies in the rear and 15x4 torque thrusts up front, love it! I now have front runner Cragar 15x4's up front, can see pics in my profile.

I may be speaking out against the majority here but, I do not like that look. To me
it looks like you could only afford 1/2 a set of cool rims.

I'd go steelies all around, or TorqueThrusts all around.

x2, I like old school but I think that looks silly, put the same wheel all the way around.

I did torqthrust up front chrome smothies out back. Looks period, on a 65 b bod

X3 - it may have some "period flare" but looks strange to me unless it is a period correct drag car with pizza cutter slicks on the rear. Even then I don't really care for the look. My vote is to keep them all steel or all Torq Ds but don't mix.. :burnout:

this was meant for the track. the slicks were mounted on steel wheels and were switched out, most of the time. unless it is on a period correct car it just doesnt look good IMO

Love that look!
Ya can't please everyone...
No disrespect to those that don't like it, but, who do you want to please?
YOURSELF! If you like it that's all that matters.
I personally LOVE that look.
Thanks for those pics 73...I'd be happy drivin' any of 'em on the street (minus all the decals/logos of course...)
Shake, Rattle and Roll!
Oh, yeah...Driving a 60's/early70's drag style of car on the street pretty much keeps you on good behavior too (outside of standing on it in a straight line when nobodies around). :burnout:

That is the way it was back then. Very few could afford to buy all 4 wheels to match at the same time. Just make sure front tires are on the skinny side and chrome lug nuts on the steelies. ONLY thing cooler than spoked mags front/steelies rear was the early to mid 70's when Cragar Su[er Tricks and slighly later Centerlines came out. Front skinny (3 1/2") Super Tricks/Centerlines, with these same steelies in the rear. This look was fast going out by 1980 or so as by then you could afford your matching rear Tricks/Centerlines.

^^^^^^^^^^^^
didnt have all the choices in wide wheels w/ any offset back then , like we do today ---------untill supertricks and centerlines came out , we had to have steel wheel s altered =heavy .

The mag up front is a period thing, look at old photos. These are Volare but again I have used this many times and I like it. But I also like mags on all 4 corners and steelies all around too!

For some reason, that look, or "chromies" in the back, were "a thing." We are talkin 64--??68
