What the difference between the lower ball joint on a 65-72 abody vs 73-76 abody?

I'm in the process of a disk brake swap and my lower ball joint has a bolt pattern that is not wide or large enough for the spindles I installed. Could I have the wrong ball joint? I was told that this set up was from an abody 73-76. Should it have much larger bolts for the lower ball joint than the drum brakes I removed?

The 73-76 lower ball joint for 10" drums or disk brakes has a wider bolt pattern and uses larger bolts than the 67-72 ball joint. So yes you probably have the wrong ball joint. If you are using 73-76 single pistion disk brakes you'll need a ball joint for a 73-76 A body even if your car is 72 or older.

And the difference is ~$50 ea since people ask $$$ for the early ball joints. I have 2 new 73+ Mevotech ball joints I bought a few years back thinking I could use on my 65 (based on FABO statements that only the hole diameter varied). I need them gone, so shipping plus half whatever rockauto charges today. PM me if interested.
