Reman Thermoquad from holley new help with ported vacuum source

Thanks for the responses. I had already put my vacuum guage on that and it was zero at idle which it should have been, i would assume like every other carb i have used that when the throttle blades open from me reving up it would have started to read vacuum, but nothing. I called the summit tech line and the guy was telling me that i would have to be driving down the road for it to start reading. I told him i rev'd it up to 3000 rpm it held it for a second and still didnt get a reading. He was so adiment that i need to tape a vacuum guage to my windshield and route a line under the hood and actually be driving around to see it pull ported vacuum. All the holley's and edelbrocks i have ever oned you just hook the guage up to the ported vacuum rev'd it in park and you could get a reading. Im gonna try his method, he said if it doesnt work they will send me a new carb, but has anyone ever heard of needing to do this to read ported vacuum.?
