Does anyone know if steel wheels on a 1968 Dart should be body color or black?

This is the information I have came up with over the years. I will not guarantee it's accuracy but it is what I believe to be true:

If the car was built with full wheel covers, the wheels were more than likely all black.

If the car was built without any optional, full wheel covers ordered, the car got the standard, small caps and body colored wheels.

Not trying to hijack, but would they be gloss, or flat black?? The reason I ask is dad is thinking about black steel wheels with dog dish....same as Tony Fields setup

i would say that they are shot with the very same paint as the body. as far as the black wheels with wheel covers im not sure. the only steel wheels that i remember being black from the factory outside of a black body are cop car wheels...but i may be wrong here..

My 69 Dart Custom came with 13" wheels and full wheel covers. The wheels including the spare were dark green ( F8 ). The body color is Light Green (F3) and the interior is Dark green with light green inserts. Just to add a little confusion.
