Which member was it that had the fitting issues and them tried to modify them. How did that warranty claim work out. I think in the end they stood behind their product.
That would be me. I love the headers, but they hit the starter and a casting bulge on the block when I test fit them on the engine stand. And it was a high torque mini starter. I had to grind the block and then bend the headers to clear the starter.
That said, I had a huge oil leak when I first got the motor running. It ran down the headers and burned on, staining them a dark brown. I fixed the leak and tried to wash the headers. No dice. I tried degreaser, brake clean, parts cleaner and carb cleaner. Nothing touched it. $800 in headers stained to hell. Three days later it was burned off and the headers looked new.
They do warn you to first run the motor with old headers or an oe manifold because the excess heat from a new untimed, carb unadjusted motor can burn off the thermal and ceramic coatings. The temps reached while tuning a new engine are extreme. In my case it involved pulling the motor, so I timed it quick and had it tuned in less than a minute. Don't know what they will say.
