Let's talk 318/349/390 strokers.

Bought a 4 inch stroker kit, put it in my 40 over 318 engine, still workin out the bugs but I love it. It's runnin warm and have'nt fixed that part yet, but I can't wait to get in it and take it to the store or just around town a bit. Feels like it's got a lot of power but not set up for racing. I say do what U want, I work with a group of guys who race and ask why I spent money on a 318 I just tell them because It's mine and I can.

Nobodys being a nay-sayer, just pointing out some technical facts... and there are TONS of stock stroke 340s and 360s that make that kind of power, and run those kind of times, and I think there are some stock stroke 318s in the 10s as well, so what does that prove? I will stick to my point, which is a 349 stroker is more exspensive than a stock stroke 360, and equally prepared, the 349 aint gonna be a better choice, or cheaper. Sure its cool, and you can tell everone you got a 318, I get that. I aint gonna debate this no more, different strokes for different folks!!!!!!!!

Certainly not disagreeing that a build with some bore shrouding is a poor engine building principle.....

........but its kind of like washing an M1 Abrams...it'll get the job done either way. :)

This 318 stroke question is very intersting for me, as here in Brazil we only had our Darts with 318 as only choice... And here it isn't very easy to find bigger mopar engines...

There ya go! Very good point to make. Not every place is blessed with 360's falling from the sky. Here in Canada, thier uncommon enough to warrant at least $500 for a runner.

90% of mopar's V8's here seem to be 318's.

Plenty of guys down under going the 318/390 path as well...alot of the iold 360 blocks have been wrung out because they've been raced a lot.

I've seen the Campbell Enterprises website and they have some stroker kits for 318 from USD 1500...

Anyone has ever heard about tihs company?

Another doubt: what kind of headers and seals do I have to install to have that volume of combustion chamber?

I don't often bad mouth companies - but I ordered set of rings from CE ...and got them two months later.

Several international phone calls were made ...many times they didn't pick up - even though I had triple checked the time zones. I'm an experienced International parts shipper and buyer. ;)

Finally got the lame excuse that they'd forgotten to order them - then he posted them by SEA mail...

I wouldn't go near them for International orders.

You're gonna have to re-word that question unfo - it doesn't make sense.

Do you mean "to SUIT that size of combustion chamber"?

If you're asking what size headers you need - various on-line calculators say 1.75 primaries minimum for a Tri-Y.

Not sure what you mean by "seals"

Rat patrol, let me try to re-word the question (english in not my native language, so it's natural that sometimes I cannot be clear on what I'm tryin to say :D )

What kind of headers and head gaskets i have to use to suit the size of combustion chambers displayed in the site?

Good to know about Campbell Enterprises... Do you people know other companies that offer stroker kits like CE ones?

Thank you!

Can't help on the gaskets because I don't know what heads you are referring to.

Stroker kits are offered by Mancini, Hughes, Speed-o-motive...just use Google, thats how I know these things.

MRL Perfomance who is a member on this web site offers a pretty cool stroker kit as well.
