Question about CRT 904-4 trans

I have a CRT-904-4 trans that I will be installing back into my Dart in about a week or two. My engine had to be fully rebuilt due to crank wear at the thrust bearing. The question I have is this... Is there any way that the transmission could have caused the crank to fail? (excluding converter balloon, and improper installation) I'm no expert, and just spent a small fortune on a 416 stroker build. I'd appreciate any useful info. Also the trans is only about a year old, but I have no knowledge of how the previous owner treated the vehicle. It seemed to shift normally however 1st gear felt a little like it was slipping. Unless the 3800 converter had something to do with that. To conclude I just want peace of mind re-installing that unit behind a fresh engine.
