273 commano on the dyno wooooow

I've heard and read lots of 12 second stories about the 273. The one thing they all have in common is headers. You have to let the air out of it. I suspect the engineers used the exhaust manifolds as a rev limiter of sorts. If the engines were supposed to rev past 6K the tach would have registered above 6K.

SORRY DOUBLE POSTED

Well men .... . I got the 273 fired up tonight with the new ld4b intake and a 650 dp holley.. Engine is real quite no valve train noise after intalling the two new pushrods and adjusting all the rockers.

Took it out for a spin and was NOT impressed.. I set the holley 650 dp to stock specs jet 67 frt. and 74 rearr. just seem to be tooooo much carb for the 273 . my engine is all stock except for the ld4b I just installed.

did not rev real fast like it did in stock form.
