73 Duster Restoration

Adam i read you had a thermoqad intake for it i have a thermoqad carb for that. let me know if you want it

I don't have the numbers handy for the one I'm including with the car. But when I researched it, it was an 850 CFM small primary from an auto trans '78 Dodge truck, California emissions. Obviously if there is a better choice, go with it.

im not sure what mine is Rob would know more about it as it was the one he gave to Mike for his zombie dart

My hands hurt just looking at all that sanding. MAN that thing is clean and solid!!

My 67 is probably that solid, but unfortunately at least two maybe three idiots just HAD to change the paint color, so now it's got about 1/4" thick paint. Factory green, red at some point, now black, and either white or white primer as well.

I can't afford to do a thing with it, unless our estate property is sold.

Most of the paint came off pretty easy. The roof and trunk lid are taking for ever though.

Cool, all it needs now is a 427 chevy and a 9" ford rear and you're SET!

Picked up a gallon of Transtar epoxy primer. The shop next to my detail shop actually gave it to me. He switched brands and had one left over. Nice seeing I already have a gallon of Transtar 2K and its the brand I used when I was working in a body shop. Im hoping to get the primer on it this weekend.

I was thinking about a backwards go-wing.

But two stacked would be even better.

I used Transtar clear on the gold 69 Swinger. That clear sanded & polished easier and nicer than any clear coat I've ever used before.
Highly recommended.
Congrats Adam. Two new babies in less than a week! :D

Thanks George, We should get together for a BBQ again this year ! I bet the boys got big since last time they were here.

We used the Transtar clear at the shop I was at also. It flows out nice. The guy at the shop next to me says he likes the clear but had some die back issues with it. Not a big deal seeing I buff cars for a living.

The base coat will be Spies Hecker which is a top of the line product. Funny that he uses suck a high end Base and then a Primer and Clear that are considered budget. He's been doing it for years though so why mess with it.

Looks like you're back in the game, and your spirits have been lifted once again. Great to see Adam, loking forward to seeing Krusty back in green.

Great news Adam !
Looks like a great car/project.
Have fun with it !

Hell yeah! It'd be great to see you guys again. Our ol ladies got along really well, too.
How are your kids? I bet they've grown a lot too.
Robert (my older son) is going to be 13 this summer and is just a tad taller than his mother. We share the same shoe size already! LOL
Nicky is going to be 9 this summer, and it growing like a weed.
Let me know if you decide to have it, or if it would be easier on Michelle, you guys could come here. We could set up in my garage if the weather turns to crap.

I wanna see the Duster anyway.

George
