any interest in an aluminum K-frame based off the design for my other builds, intended for lightening the load?

feature chromoly upper and lower control arms
no sway bar mounts
w/o motor mounts/perches for cars with motorplate
(optional motor perches)
guestimated price ....$1800-$2000 for above

would use off the shelf.....(not included in guestimate)
compact/lightweight 71-72 pinto style rack and pinion/ mount
screw-in chrysler style ball joints
Mustang II spindles/ greasable tie rod ends
coilover shocks/ assorted disc brake packages for Mustang II spindle

I have a '69 Hemi Dart, I'd definitely be interested. Show me some pics!

As soon as I have access to computer (on i phone now ) i will post pics of steel ones I have built ....I will soon update my dilver Duster with an aluminum version and thought their might be a racer or two that would like one also

I already have the tubular a arms with screw in ball joints, I have no idea who made them because they came with the car when I bought it. Can you give me more info, and pictures when you get he chance? I'll try to get the nose off my car this weekend and send pictures if you will PM my your email address.

still getting used to the small buttons I see......... :thumblef:

I like the idea Denny. Gotta watch for fatigue issues with the aluminum though. Im sure with some research, the correct material usage, and the right welding procedure, you could make it work. Id estimate the weight different to be 10 lbs or less versus a round tube unit. Keep us posted Denny. :)

The only piece I would make in aluminum is the K-frame itself, and try to recommend it for 1/4 mile blasts only, not normal street use.....the rest of the componets will remain chromoly. The fabricator/welder is an expert that builds midgets/sprints/race cars/ect has been fabricating for a living for decades. The owner of the company also teaches welding/chassis construction at a nearby community college. I have and will rely heavily on their knowlege and experience.

Impressive .... no wonder it takes Mark a little longer to weld together parts!

Since my car is a street/strip car I'm thinking your steel one would be better. How much including the R&P unit & what's your recommendation for a coil-over set-up for a Hemi?

The gold bar is not mandatory...just an added brace that goes where the drag link normally located. It is easily removable.
It can be purchased in black for an extra dollar...but the gold plating...zinc phosphate is the least expensive....color/plating preferen is anyones call

Thanks
Denny

Aluminum k still in pre-build....this house build in killing my hot rod time/k frame

what kind of prices would i be looking at? as far as complet kit with aluminum k frame, and a price for steel..

thank you

for the pieces you see above in steel...the K-frame, motor perches, and sway bar mounts, chromoly upper and lower control arms, and upper shock mount/support I am around $1600, depending on motor application. A list of over the counter componets adds appx $1000-1200 additional

the aluminum K w/ no sway bar mounts including the other pieces in steel/chromoly....I expect to be around $1800-$2000. Aluminum would be in box also

So without the 1600 for the purchasing of your steel setup, how much money needs to be spend to get it up and running when converting to coil over (a.k.a Which parts need to be purchased to make it work?) Or do you have this info posted somewhere so people can look at the list and see what will work with your setup to bolt in and go?
