aluminum K frames

I like the idea Denny. Gotta watch for fatigue issues with the aluminum though. Im sure with some research, the correct material usage, and the right welding procedure, you could make it work. Id estimate the weight different to be 10 lbs or less versus a round tube unit. Keep us posted Denny. :)

The only piece I would make in aluminum is the K-frame itself, and try to recommend it for 1/4 mile blasts only, not normal street use.....the rest of the componets will remain chromoly. The fabricator/welder is an expert that builds midgets/sprints/race cars/ect has been fabricating for a living for decades. The owner of the company also teaches welding/chassis construction at a nearby community college. I have and will rely heavily on their knowlege and experience.
