If this were a used block I would have reservations about it.
If the contaminates in motor oil are carcinogenic to the skin imagine the effects of ingestion through fumes.
I would guess that the porous cast iron would have absorbed some of the chemicals.
Many people wouldnt be concerned, but I would prefer the safe course.
I have absorbed enough bad stuff already in my work.
