By the way you earlier wanted to find the right Gas Cap that is the same one my 73 Duster has and it is mostly original.

The gas cap that was on the car was from a 75 or 76. It looks the same but doesnt tighten. I found the correct one.

Im going to respray some primer this weekend I hope. most of the mess has been DA'd off with 180 and leveled out a bit with some 180 on the long board.

well damn! thats a bummer. you'll have it fixed up in no time buddy!! nice work so far.

Car looks good Adam. Kinda boring for up here tho...lol. Looks like the primer might have been sprayed when it was too cold and not allowed to cure? I've got my buddy's Gremlin in the garage and I'm doing the blocking now... So I feel your pain. He bought the Summit paint system. I let the primer shrink for a couple months... It did shrink, but it's as hard as nails...lol.

I am kinda wondering if you have some sort of issue with the epoxy to be honest.... it looks very rough textured..... I'm wondering if maybe you made an error when mixing it?

Im gonna sand most of the epoxy down. You can feel the texture in it. Whats odd is its only one side of the car. The epoxy mixed 4:1. Kinda hard to mess it up using a mixing cup.

Yea I hear ya man... stranger things have happened like if you remixed for the other side and just grabbed the wrong stuff or something weird like that... stranger things have happened when you combine paint fumes and beer LOL

Primer success. It looked so good I decided to put the bumpers and lights back in it and drive it. Theres few things I need to fix, everything inside the doors are broken. Rollers, clips, if its plastic its dried up and broken. Same with the plastic parts that the headlight screws screw into.

after those are fixed Im gonna swap on the 4bbl and make a few changes to the exhaust, mufflers (Thrush welded), stock tips and perhaps a cheap set of headers. The pypes kit is too quite for me.

Yeah, really nice!
As far as the exhaust, those are two chamber mufflers, so I'm not sure if the Thrush will buy you much in terms of sound. I'd ditch that stupid X pipe before changing the mufflers. But in addition to the better sound of headers, you will be replacing those home made 1 7/8 headpipes I made. So you will gain twice there. It's a shame that Pypes system sucks as bad as it does. It looks decent before you realize it won't fit, and the price is unbeatable. After that fiasco, I swore I'd never do an aftermarket exhaust again, and I stuck to it. I just put the JCW sound kit on my Cooper, and it's sweet. But that's what $1,100 buys you (didn't pay that much). Plus it's one piece, as a factory exhaust (that doesn't go over an axle) should be. Just put it on the hangers, and go.

the thrush mufflers are 2 chamber flowmaster just half the price,
Yeah, I've heard great things. I'll probably put one on the Ram when I get around to it. Or maybe a used Pypes street pro? BTW, those mufflers are welded on, if you didn't already notice. Sorry about that..... It was either weld, or get those expensive band type clamps (forget what they are called). If you see the Dart on the Pypes website, even they couldn't get the system to fit without fudging some hokey angles. If I had seen that pic first, I would never have bought that system.

i had those thrush welded mufflers on my 74 D100 2 1/2 exhaust they sounded great they kinda get loud while driving at 55 to 60 mph course they could of been quieter if i ran them all the way out the back i had mine come out in front of the rear tires i plan on getting another set for my 72 dart
im stoppin by my storage unit today after i drop off my son at school to get you those numbers off that TQ i'll even bring it home with me incase you need more info

Maybe I'll scrap the Pypes system and buy a Summit system for $200.

I have the summit system lots of cuttin and fittin. Very hard to fit but once it is in it sounds great for beeing their knock off muffler.
