1979 CAMARO Z/28 350/4SPD/3:73's ORIGINAL/UNTOUCHED:burnout:

THIS WAS A CAR I WAS GOING TO BUILD INTO A BIG BLOCK STREET BRAWLER, BUT SINCE IT'S SO ORIGINAL, I FEEL IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY AND PRESERVED.

I'M A MOPAR GUY BUT ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE 2ND GENERATION Z/28 4-SPD CARS. I DROVE THIS CAR 130 MILES LAST WEEK-END. THE CAR TRACKS NICE AND IS STABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND RAN COOL THRU MILES OF BUMPER TO BUMPER BOSTON TRAFFIC. WITH THE BEACH BOYS ENDLESS SUMMER TAPE IN THE 8-TRACK PLAYER IT FELT LIKE MY COLLEGE DAYS ALL OVER AGAIN. NO RATTLES, NO CREAKING, SOLID AS A ROCK, THE TEMP GUAGE STAYED COOL, AND THE CLUTCH AND BRAKES OPERATED LIKE NEW. I LAUGHED WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR AND HEARD THE BUZZER. THIS CAR IS VERY, VERY ORIGINAL AND HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED. THIS CAR HAS MOSTLY ORIGINAL PAINT, ORIGINAL INTERIOR, ORIGINAL EXHAUST (MINUS CAT) AND THE ORIGINAL TIRES!!! THIS Z/28 IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF SMALL BLOCK POWERED CHEVY MUSCLE FROM THE 80’S! THE CAR SEEMS TO BE WEARING MOST OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT ACCORDING TO AN AUTOBODY EXPERT FRIEND OF MINE - THE HOOD LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN RESPRAYED. THE MATCHING CARMINE RED BUCKET SEAT INTERIOR IS FLAWLESS AND REMAINS IN PERFECT SHAPE, NO RIPS OR PULLED SEAMS, THE SEATS FOAMS ARE FIRM AND THE SEAT BELTS AND ADJUSTERS WORK GREAT. THE WINDOWS ROLL UP LIKE BUTTER. THE DASH IS HIGHLY DETAILED AND THE GUAGES AND LIGHTS ARE IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER (EXCEPT THE TACH). ALL WINDOWS ARE CLEAR AND THE WEATHER-STRIPPING AND THE SWEEPS ARE PERFECT. THE HEAT/VENT SYSTEM IS 100% OPERATIONAL AND THE CABLES AND LEVERS MOVE SMOOTHLY. THE OUTSIDE VENTS WORK AND PULL OPEN WITH EASE. THE AM-FM 8-TRACK FUNCTIONS WELL AND IT THE NEWLY ADDED REAR SPEAKERS MAKE IT EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE (YOU CAN SWAP OUT THE PACKAGE TRAY WITH A REPRO VERSION TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL LOOK) THIS CAR IS 100% .
THIS IS A COMPLETELY RUST FREE CAR, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE TYPICAL "FLASH" RUST FOUND ON THE UNCOATED PARTS OF CARS THAT HAVE BEEN DRIVEN. COMPLETELY ORIGINAL SHEET METAL, NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT AND ALL OF THE TRIM IS PERFECT. THE CAR WAS RUSTPROOFED AT 500 MILES. THE CAR SHINES LIKE IT DID 33 YEARS AGO. ONCE YOU GET BEHIND THE WHEEL, FIRE UP THAT 350 SMALL BLOCK AND START ROWING THE SHIFTER THROUGH THE GEARS, YOU’LL SWEAR THAT IT’S 1979 ALL OVER AGAIN! EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A LOW POINT FOR HORSEPOWER THE 4-SPEED REALLY WAKES UP THE CAR.
THE DOCUMENTATION IS INCREDIBLE:
BUILDSHEET - WINDOW STICKER - WARRANTY BOOKLET WITH VIN STICKERS STILL INSIDE - BFG SPACE SAVER INSTRUCTIONS - 1979 GM CONSUMER BOOKLET - DEALER INVENTORY SLIP - RUST PROOFING RECEIPT - GOOD YEAR WARRANTY - GM MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - ORIGINAL KEYS WITH KNOCK OUTS ON THE ORIGINAL DEALER FOB WITH LOCK BOX TAG STILL ON THE RING!!
AS WITH ANY SURVIVOR - THE CAR IS POWERED BY THE ORIGINAL LM-1 350/4V ENGINE, THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ORIGINAL BORG WARNER T-10 4-SPEED, AND SINCE IT DOES NOT HAVE AC THE OPTIONAL 3:73 GEAR SET WAS INSTALLED IN THE 10 BOLT POSI REAR. THERE ARE NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER WITH THIS CAR. NO LEAKS, NO TICKS, NO PROBLEMS.
THE WHEELS ARE STANDARD Z28 STEELIES WITH STAINLESS TRIM RINGS. THIS CAR HANDLES WELL, IT IS GUARANTEED TO BE A SHOW STOPPER AT ANY GAS STATION, CRUISE NIGHT, OR CAR SHOW – THE ENTIRE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS BEEN RUSTPROOFED SO IT'S NOT AS "PRETTY" AS RESTORED CARS IT WAS MEANT TO PRESERVE IT - AND IT'S DONE THAT VERY WELL.
ASKING $17,900 - MOPAR TRADES WILL BE CONSIDERED
CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME

I like the T-10 trans. I rebuilt a few of those back in the 90's. The 4 speeds are the only second generation F-body cars to own.

Thanks EF!!

:thumleft:

I'm going to be looking for a 66-67 Malibu for the 454 when the Z sells...

Dave

Man, that car is freakin NICE.
I don't blame you for selling; I have a thing for 66 Chevelle myself, and WILL own one someday.
Good Luck bruther.

George

Thanks Guys - the Z28 runs and drives like it was 1979, no creeks or rattles, tight as hell - makes me smile whenever I get in it and hear that door buzzer.

I quit smoking back in the early 90's so I have to hunt for the matchbook to put in the 8-Track player (under the tape, remember!) when it starts sounding garbled :lol:

Dave

Nice ride...Wouldn't mind having it in the stable.
Good luck with the sale.
