New wheels won't clear hubs

I ordered some new Billet Specialties Legend Rival rims for my 74 Dart Sport
15 x 10 with a 6" bs on the rear which fit great on the Dana 60.
The fronts are 15 x 7 with a 4.75 bs and they won't fit over the hub.
The rims have a 3" hole in the center at the back of the rim but taper to about 2.75" starting about 1/2" from the rear towards the front side of that hole and the hub outside diameter is about 2.86"
The other problem is the stock studs are only 1" long and are not long enough for the conical nuts to be safe. I have no problem changing out the studs.
I was hoping I could find a replacement hub and rotor assembly which has a smaller outside diameter hub if something like that is even available?
The wheels cannot be turned down inside so my only other option if I can't find a smaller hub is to have my hubs turned down about 0.16".
Selling these rims is not an option.
Does anyone know if a smaller hub/rotor is available?
Any other ideas?

If I was pulling the hubs to change out the studs I would go ahead with turning the hub down too.
 
I posted my .02 over on bigblockdart.com - here it is again:

Been down this road with another brand wheel. You either go with an aftermarket hub assembly (like Wilwood), turn the center of the stock disc brake hub (and all future hubs) down or do what I did and open the center of the wheel up. If the wheel uses a bolt-on cap it shouldn't be a problem. I have a friend with a Bridgeport milling machine in his home shop. He fly cut the center register to 2.85".

The stock brake hubs do have a taper out near the dust cap where it's not machined. So, you may only have take some meat from the back side of the center bore to gain clearance and not go all the way through. (You said the taper starts .5" in from the back. I'm saying extend that farther towards the front) . Talk to a machinist. It's probably not as hard a fix as you think. Just a pain - it sucks.
 
I say make the wheels fit the hubs too. I have a bridgeport mill to do the job but not close enough to you.
 
I'm hesitant to have the wheels milled to fit because the walls on that part of the rim are only 0.3" thick.
It looks like the best plan is to get the hubs turned down to fit inside the rims.
Now I just have to find someone who can chuck up the hubs and turn them down for me.
Wilwood brakes would be nice but it's not in the budget.

Any lathe will turn down what you need done.
Bridgeports will also do it.
Alot of car guys have this equipment in their shop.
Ask around.
 
Any shop or part store with a brake lathe can alter that hub diameter if they are willing.
 
I'll check around to see who is willing to do this for me. Since I have to have the hubs modified I'm going to buy new ones first.
I'm new to the area I live in so I'm still learning where to get things done for a reasonable price and done properly.
Not too many places these days want to turn rotors or drums.
We live in a throw away world now.

I've just ordered some new hubs/rotors today so when I get them and get the studs punched out I'll pm Craig and see if he can steer me in the right direction.

Just wanted to update everyone on my progress and I have to say sometimes you have to have luck on your side.
I ordered new rotor/hub assemblies from Carquest and the hub is smaller in the center and my rims fit! :thumleft: These were ordered for a 74 318 Dart Sport.
I'm not sure who manufactures these rotor/hubs but it's good to know an over the counter replacement hub will work without modification.
I do still have punch out the old studs and install longer ones but that's a non issue.
