Electronic Speedo Hook up

-
Well if the speedo doesnt start to registor until you've gone a half mile, then your odometer will be off, gas mileage also, so yes, to me it needs to be spot on. Since there is only 1 wire from the harness to the speedo, would shrink tubing work as a shield?

this Speedhut speedo works great and looks cool...

Buschi,

Is that KPH? If it is MPH, I think you're being a wee bit optimistic. :)

Dash looks good too.

Look at the bottom of the speedo and you can make out KPH.

yeah, it's kph. But I reached already 230. You can't imagine what potential in this machines is. At 230 was still space under the pedal. But I had already poo in the pants... LOL
The dash is made off wood.

Yeah, I noticed it's a fair deal easier to bury my 120 mph speedo than it used to be with the little 318, lol. Don't have the gears to do a whole lot more than that though. I think my top end is around 130-140 based on engine rpm.

Lets get back on topic. I hear about shielding the speedo wire, what shielding is preferable?

230 KPH is about 140 MPH and I don't care what car your in, that's f-ing fast.

Wrangler Power Products is where I got the stuff I used. It is not in the catalog anymore so you would have to call them. If there is a Frys Electronic Store near you they would have it, I think. It was basically a braided stainless sleeve that went over the wires. Wish I could be of more help......

If you cannot do anything else, go down to RadioSH## and buy a stereo headset extension cable. That will give you a 2 conductor shielded cable like below

Lowes/ Home Depot, does show "shielded security cable" on their site. In this locale, Lowes does sell "by the foot."

Ground one end, I would first try right at the sender, and insulate the shield at the speedo end.

i have a 69 dart and i want to know where to put blk wire, white and red

Alan, not sure of brand but usually black is ground, red is hot (12V) leaving white for sensor which comes off the point side of coil to sense the rpnm. But you should have directions to be exact.

Happy Thanksgiving.
